Grand Cayman

Day 6 was spent on Grand Cayman. Ken and I went snorkeling on an old sunken Navy ship where we saw a huge school of fish, and then on a nearby reef. The water was incredibly clear, and I could have kept snorkeling for hours. It was so cool to see all the different fish. We saw a barracuda, a ray, and the most ridiculously colorful fish I’ve ever seen. Apparently it was a parrot fish. That was my favorite excursion by far. I’ve decided I want to get SCUBA certified so I can dive further. It’s so amazing!

These houses were right next to the reef where we snorkeled. Must be rough.

We spent a little time walking around Grand Cayman, which is very British.

They drive on the wrong side of the road and it was quite commercial. But there were chickens just wandering around between these fancy diamond shops. Pretty funny.

There was plenty of entertainment at night – variety shows, magic shows, bars with various music being played, comedy shows, karaoke, dancing classes, gambling, game shows – none of which were really our cup of tea. However, this hammock on the deck big enough for two people was pretty fun to lay on and watch the stars.

And here’s Ken’s brother singing with the live band. He wasn’t as much of a hit as Ken’s mom’s awesome dances were, but he was more of a hit than I was, because I didn’t sing.
