Power and grit

On Sunday afternoon the power went out for almost 4 hours. It had to be 95+, so we holed up in our only room and hoped the power would ‘come back on before it got too hot. Happily it didn’t get too hot. We cooked dinner on the camp stove and then the power came back on.

As of tonight Ken has stripped 20 boards out of 101 in the upstairs. I am not strong enough to wield the angle grinder above my head, so I’m on final detail duty with the sandblaster. If we can do five boards a day except Sundays we’ll be done July 14th, giving us just under 2 weeks to put whatever finish we choose on the ceiling, shovel out all the sand and sawdust, possibly pull out the carpet , and move everything back up there before Kristina arrives for a visit. It’s going to be a gritty and busy few weeks.
