How to build a terrace when you are too cheap to buy ready-made blocks

Step 1. Take before picture.

Step 2. Clear away all the cacti. Ouch! Thought I took a picture of the big pile I pulled out, but apparently not.

Step 3. Get a pallet of concrete. Rejoice that you have a 350 van that can handle it.

Step 4. Fill large paper lunch bags with said (dry) concrete.

Step 5. Stack bags in wall shape.

Step 6. Pound in rebar.

Step 7. Water bags.

Step 8. Have Ken make a the most beautiful pizza ever because part of the wall collapsed.

This thing was a masterpiece!

Step 9. Keep the soaker hose on the bags and wrap them in plastic to conserve moisture – this process might be less difficult somewhere where the humidity occasionally rises above 20%. Ladies and gentlemen, I have discovered the ONLY useful thing about humidity.

Step 10. Marvel at how concrete magically hardens with water.

Step 11. Fill in the collapsed part.

Step 12. Put on the last layer and build steps using the same method. That’s today’s task if Ken ever gets out of bed and feeds me breakfast.
