Weather-related letters

Dear NOAA meteorologist for the Cleveland area,

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the 2-4 inches of snow predicted for last night actually materialized, and possibly even exceeded 4 inches! Good job!

Dear Cleveland Heights,

I was not surprised to find that my usual route to school was un-plowed and therefore impassable via bicycle and that there was a ton of backed up traffic on the one cleared road, causing me to take twice as long to get to school this morning as usual. Rumor has it that you did get the road plowed by time Ken came down though, so bravo! I love to see my tax dollars at work.

Dear God, controller of weather,

Please send enough ice that it shuts everything down, but not enough that we lose power.

Dear Case,

You’ve never shut down for weather in the 3.5 years I’ve been here. How about tomorrow you change that. I know I wasn’t planning on coming in to school anyway because I get to spend more time writing and less time biking through the inevitable salt slush that way, but it’s the principle of the thing!

———————————————————————————–

Sincerely,
Lisa
